Parr and team visited Travelers Rest Speedway this past weekend to compete with the Mid East Street Stocks for $5K to win.
Parr started strong by qualifying P1 in group 4 and P3 overall out of 38 cars. That would put the 48 on the pole for heat 4.
Parr would battle with Calob Mclaughlin, another Statement driver, in heat 4, and end up P2. That finish locked Grant into the 50 lap main event starting in P8.
The 48 car looked for traction on the high side early on, but the track quickly became dominant on the bottom groove. Parr would struggle early and fall back to P13.
The first 25 laps went clean and green, but all would change after the fuel break on lap 25.
The second half of the main event turned into a wreck fest. Parr battled hard and drove a smart race, and with some luck was able to avoid multiple wrecks.
When the checkered flag waved, Grant crossed the line in P3. Parr kept the car clean and came home with minimal damage. It was overall a successful race for the 48 team and a confidence builder for Parr.
